This class is designed to familiarize students with the basic knowledge and skills to safely care for infants and children. Our goal is to teach our students to be the best babysitter on the block! It is our aim that our students will gain confidence to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation.Topics covered by this course include:

The Williamson Valley Fire District allows members of the community, 18 years of age and older, to participate in a Ride-Along Program with on-duty emergency crews at our various fire stations in the Williamson Valley Fire District communities. This program is intended as an educational endeavor to acquaint community members with the Fire and Emergency Medical Services provided by the Fire District, and to better understand the duties and responsibilities of today’s firefighters.This program allows for our community to experience responding to emergency calls in a fire truck or in a command vehicle while observing Williamson Valley Fire District operations in a variety of emergency situations. Observers will also experience firsthand what life in the fire house is all about, and to get to know your community firefighters on a more personable basis. We require a one (1) week notice for all Ride-Along requests. Thank you for your cooperation.
Williamson Valley Fire District’s Prevention and Safety Educators visit preschools, kindergartens, and grade school classrooms with lessons designed to teach youngsters the skills they need to react appropriately when faced with a life safety situation.
Our certified technicians can verify if a seat has been recalled, provide proper installation instruction and will evaluate the owners ability to safety install a car seat on their own once they have been instructed to ensure child safety seats are properly installed if they need to be removed from the vehicle or moved to another. An appointment may be obtained by calling 928-717-2304. We currently take appointments on Thursday afternoons. We do limit installation instruction to appointments only so our certified technicians can provide one on one instruction.

The Williamson Valley Fire District Paramedic program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). This letter is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status, it is a status signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation standards through the Letter of Review Self-Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. Letter of Review is recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for eligibility to take the National Registry's Paramedic credentialing examination(s). However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.

This program is designed “To prepare competent entry-level Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic‚ in cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains.”
Upon successful completion of the program, successful completion of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician’s Paramedic examinations, and certification by the ADHS/BEMS, you will be eligible to practice as a Certified Paramedic in the State of Arizona.
Williamson Valley Fire District and Columbia Southern University (CSU) have joined together to provide an Applied Science (AS) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Paramedicine upon successful course completion and other requirements required by CSU. 30 credit hours from paramedic school transfer towards your degree. Additionally, as a CSU learning partner you will receive a 10% discount on the remainder of your credit hours to earn your degree.
The didactic portion of the course consists of 528 classroom hours.
The clinical/vehicular portion of the program consists of 668 additional hours. These hours will include working in Surgery, Intensive Care Units, Respiratory Therapy, Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery and Pediatrics, as well as with approved paramedic-preceptors on ambulances and rescue units.
